Introduction:

Cases, all computers need cases. From the smallest computer to the largest, they are all in cases. Not all of them are created equal though. Some come with blowholes & fancy designs, some are just plain enclosures with nothing special about them. Many well known companies that make them, such as Addtronics, Antec, In-Win, Enlight, and others, have produced some outstanding cases in the past. Many of you know that GlobalWin makes various heat sinks and other cooling products, but what many of you don't know is that GlobalWin also makes cases, high quality ones at that. Today I take a look at the GlobalWin YCC-802.

The Package:

GlobalWin has always been known for high quality products, and the YCC-802 is no exception. Included with the case is a box of goodies with a bag of miscellaneous screws, and bay covers. The front panel is slightly bland, but is okay for most users. One thing I do like about this case is the ability to change out the floppy cover on the front panel. Included is one with just a floppy opening, and another, which includes two (2) removable panels, which is good if you have a floppy and a zip drive.

The Design:

This case is designed great. A two-part cover makes modding much easier. The chassis is very sturdy and is made of nice thick steel. It also has swing out feet for extra stability and looks.

Goin' Inside:

Inside the case are two (2) 3.5in external bays, three (3) 3.5in internal bays, and 3 5.25in external bays. These are rail less bays, so you don't have to worry about installing rails on your drives. Most of the edges are rounded, so you don't have to worry about cutting yourself. There are two (2) 80mm fan holes in the case, one (1) in the front just below the 3.5in bays, and one (1) in the back just below the power supply. The motherboard tray is the slide out type, which works out great if you’re like me and change CPU's, coolers, or even motherboards on a daily basis
